The Invention of Morel

I created a book cover and a series of three illustrations based on the book ‘The Invention of Morel’ by Adolfo Bioy Casares for a competition held by The House of Illustration and The Folio Society. Each illustration was inspired by different quotes from throughout the novel I mostly focused on scenes in the book that involved elements of nature. The patterns I created were inspired by Art Nouveau and popular designs from the 1920s, the book cover and scarf pattern was used to foreshadow events that took place in the book.
